Diners Club International® today announced a $750,000 donation to World Central Kitchen (WCK), supporting communities impacted by natural disasters and humanitarian crises globally. The contribution, part of Diners Club’s 75th-anniversary celebrations, was funded by a special initiative on May 7, 2025, where the company pledged a meal for every Diners Club card transaction worldwide, successfully reaching the $750,000 maximum.
This significant donation will enable World Central Kitchen to provide approximately 150,000 meals. The anniversary initiative, which began in February, directly involves Club members in offering comfort and support through food to those facing hardship.
“Marking 75 years is a momentous occasion for Diners Club. We are incredibly proud to collaborate with World Central Kitchen, honouring our legacy that began with a single meal,” said Ricardo Leite, Senior Vice President and Head of International Markets at Discover and President of Diners Club International. “Today, we continue that spirit by supporting WCK’s vital mission to provide nourishment and hope during crises.”
This global initiative is part of Diners Club’s “Together for Change” program, which has empowered issuers and Club members to support community causes for over two decades, focusing on sustainability, healthcare, education, and disaster relief.
José Andrés, founder of World Central Kitchen, commented, “Contributions like this from Diners Club are crucial to our mission. This generous donation will directly support our on-the-ground efforts to feed individuals affected by disasters worldwide, from wildfires to hurricanes. It’s about more than food; it’s about delivering hope to the table.”
